Submit Your Short
Please note that we DO NOT accept film submissions by email; they will not be considered. Thank you for using the submission form exclusively to send us your film.
What kind of films are you looking for?

Shorts under 30 minutes, of all genres! To get a better sense of our editorial line and the kinds of films we distribute, we invite you to take a look at our catalogue. Some shorts can be viewed online for free on our Vimeo.

We do NOT take features, medium-lengths (30 min +), nor television projects.

Do you distribute Canadian shorts only?

Actually no! While the majority of our slate is made of Quebec / Canadian productions, we always have a small portion allocated to international shorts. Because we are extremely selective with our international shorts, these films tend to stand out from the rest of our slate and have a successful run in any given year.

How many shorts do you take per year?

Around 10-15.

What is the best time to submit my short?

Anytime during the year!

We prefer a rough cut or a final version, before any festival submission. By rough cut, we mean a version before picture lock that you are proud to show and that feels representative of your intentions, but that still leaves room for feedback if needed.

If you have already started submitting your film to several festivals, please fully and transparently disclose this information using the form below.

Can I submit my short at a development or production stage?

We only consider shorts at a screenplay stage for Quebec productions intending to apply to SODEC - and our capacity is extremely limited in that regard. We prefer acquiring films at post-production stage - a rough cut or a final version, before any festival submission.

What are your services? What are your service fees and percentages?

We handle both festival distribution and international sales - exclusive, world rights - for the short films we work with. (In very particular cases, we handle sales only for certain films - if this is your inquiry, please mention it in the comments when submitting your film)

To learn more about our fees and percentages - first submit us your film; we can then provide this information if we are interested in collaborating.

How long will it take before I get a reply?

Submissions are generally considered between 2-8 weeks. (If you exceptionally still haven't gotten a reply after 8 weeks, feel free to reach out to info@travellingdistribution.com)
