HIMALIA invites us to glimpse into another time, and another place. On a remote farmhouse, anchored amidst an idyllic landscape, lives a family of four. Yet this is no Utopia. Strange things happen here. Flowers sway differently, and the sun travels over the landscape like an impenetrable wall of light, tireless and ever-flowing. For the length of a single spin around the Sun, we get a glimpse into this far-far-away land that is ethereal and serene. Here, even language differs from our preconception of how we foresee the future. And through the narration of an omniscient radio which goes on and on fetishizing today’s ecology, we may even contemplate on how our current civilization will appear to the eyes of those who dwell ahead. This strangely transcendental tale thus seeks to diverge from the assumption that we are heading towards darker times, and instead brings to light the most crucial symbiosis which is sure to persist, no matter the stage of our evolution : our reliance of the Sun, that great ball of fire which will forever dictate the rhythm of our lives.
Clara Milo & Juliette Lossky

Whether it’s on paper or behind the lens, Clara Milo’s bohemian entourage and early exposure to art have influenced her to tirelessly push the boundaries of narrative aesthetics. Her otherworldly tales most often gravitate around environmental fiction, wherein the sublime may arise through the characterization of Nature.
