Director's statement
ZOE is a cinematic experience that compels its audience to share the sensory and emotional confusion of its protagonist, afflicted by the condition of being a “zombie.”Through moments of rage and fragments of fractured memory, the story slowly delivers the clues needed to grasp the full gravity of her situation.Visceral emotions—happiness, hatred, sadness, helplessness, and revolt—guide us on a journey that reconsiders the notion of the monster in this horror allegory of trauma.

Rémi St-Michel
Rémi St-Michel has directed several short films including The Deer (Le chevreuil), Little Brother (Petit-Frère) and HeartBomb (Une Bombe au coeur). He released his first feature film, Before We Explode (Avant Qu’on Explose), in 2019. Zoé is his most recent project.
